Let’s talk about the future?! - 80 years of SGP Łódź: the role of surveying in TBM tunnelling

On 7 November 2025, at EC1 Łódź, we had the pleasure of taking part in the 80th-anniversary conference of the Association of Polish Surveyors (Łódź Branch). We spoke about how precise surveying keeps a TBM on course to its target. During the conference, Andrzej Dąbrowski delivered the talk “The role of surveying in TBM tunnelling,” and then, together with the team, led the visit “Where a tunnel is born. An underground encounter with TBM technology”. In practice, we demonstrated how surveying-through the integration of measurements, monitoring, and guidance-maintains the correct TBM heading and controls the machine’s position.
We are pleased to add that in the commemorative 2026 calendar issued for the occasion, the month of May was dedicated to Polservice Geo. It’s a welcome distinction and a tribute to our entire team, who combine field experience with modern monitoring and data analytics tools every day.
